30 days. No excuses. Obviously, it’s very easy for someone to issue a chargeback if they’re not happy. We prefer to avoid that by not making excuses and not making it difficult. 

Usage is based on concurrent active use. You can have 1000 computers with ENERCALC installed on them with a 2 seat license. “2 seats” simply means you can only have 2 users actively in the software at the same time. Pay for what you use, not for what you might use. 

Yes. You can install on every Windows computer you have. Your licenses only limits the number of simultaneous active users. 

Access to our Windows software, access to our software in the cloud, all updates (usually 2 per month), and technical support from PEs and SEs who used ENERCALC in design practice. We also have Office Hours, a live monthly webinar that deeply focuses on a specific module.

All software is available as installed Windows software or via the cloud. An active installed seat is considered the same as an active cloud seat.

The cloud experience is like a remote session with a Windows PC. Same UI as the installed software. The primary difference between cloud and installed is that we store your project files on AWS S3, where every version is saved and backups are mirrored to 2 different locations immediately. Even so, installed software users can still access the cloud-based projects, upload new ones, download them, etc. 

Your subscription is paused at the end of the term – ie: on its expire date. You can reactivate it any time. We offer this to make it easy to start and stop when your business doesn’t require a full-time license. 

If you reactivate within 90 days, you get the same pricing. If you reactivate after 90 days, your pricing will be whatever our current pricing is (we only adjust pricing once a year across all products / customers). 

When you reactivate, you get the same month to month or year to year subscription and access. 

No, we don’t negotiate pricing. Everyone from the single engineer to the 10,000 engineer firm pays the same price.

Licenses are delivered when payment is received, ie: we do not offer Net 30 (etc) terms. 

Note: Governments and large corporations prefer that “we don’t negotiate pricing” is stated in specific terms. This (below) is for them.

Most Favored Pricing and Standard Terms
ENERCALC maintains standardized pricing and payment terms for all customers. No customer, regardless of size, receives more favorable pricing, discounts, or commercial terms than any other customer purchasing under comparable conditions.

ENERCALC does not offer customer-specific negotiations, discounts, or payment terms such as Net 30. Software and licenses are delivered only upon receipt of payment.

For customers who purchased under earlier pricing schedules, ENERCALC applies modest annual adjustments—generally ten percent (10%) or less—to bring legacy pricing into alignment with current standard pricing over time. These adjustments are applied uniformly and predictably across all similarly situated customers.

This policy ensures fairness, transparency, and consistency across ENERCALC’s entire customer base.

We review pricing once a year. We may raise prices. We may not. For example, in 2026, we did not raise new license prices. 

We do this annually so that you don’t have to worry about random pricing surprises throughout the year. Our price changes, when they occur, take effect on January 1st. 

“Legacy” pricing is what we call the prices that subscribers who bought when prices were lower and they have kept their subscription active since subscribing. During our annual price review, we set prices for legacy price tiers for the new year. These increases are usually 5 to 10 percent higher than the prior year. These price increases never push anyone’s subscription price beyond our current new license pricing.

As an example, we have some long-term users who started at $119 per month. Over several years, their pricing has increased to $129, then $139, and so on, per month. These prices only move up once per year. We don’t take you from $119 to $199 per month (or similar) in 1 increase and we don’t raise prices in January and then again in June. We wouldn’t like any of that and we figure you wouldn’t either.

Usage ends when your subscription expires or is cancelled. Cancellations take effect on your subscription expire date.
