Why do you provide the 2nd seat?
During the pandemic, we added a second complimentary seat to the first seat license make it easier to work at the office, at home, while traveling, etc. Our users like this, so we’ve kept it. This makes it easier to use ENERCALC ANYWHERE (except US sanctioned countries, of course).
Why annual over monthly?
For starters, annual comes out to $142 a month. Monthly is $199 a month, a difference of $57 per month. The increase from $142 to $199 a month is 40%, thus it’s 40% more to buy monthly. Sometimes, that’s what you need.
If you want the best price, buy the annual subscription. Yes, this price difference is our incentive to get you to subscribe annually.
80% of our subscribers are annual. We like it that way and we find that customers stay longer and benefit more the longer they stay.
Why monthly over annual?
Monthly vs annual is primarily a cash flow strategy. When your firm is new, cash flow is usually critical so monthly makes sense. If your project flow is intermittent, monthly makes sense. If you want the best possible price and cash flow isn’t as much of an issue, choose annual.
Can I switch from monthly to annual and apply what I've already paid?
- If you’re currently on a monthly plan, we’ll schedule your next billing date to begin the annual subscription.
- If you’re on an annual plan, we recommend waiting until the end of your current term to switch—unless you’re still within the 30-day refund period, in which case we can assist you with the change right away.
Do I have to pay extra when governing codes change?
No. Your subscription includes all updates, including IBC, AISC, ASCE, etc – and all updates to section and material databases.
Is there a money back guarantee?
Yes. Our policy is 30 day full refund.
That said, we handle refunds in the way we would expect refunds to be handled when we ask for one. Jen in the business office has full discretion to refund beyond our stated policy as she believes is needed.
The rule she is held to: Do the right thing.
We haven’t had a card charge disputed this year.
Real world examples: An engineer passed away in March 2025. Their spouse contacted us in May to cancel their 2026 renewal. Their last annual subscription renewal occurred in January 2025. We refunded the prior January’s subscription because it was the right thing to do – the spouse hadn’t even asked.
