Chris Conrad

Chris is the Director of Engineering at ENERCALC.  His early structural engineering experiences included some highway and railroad bridge design and inspection, followed by approximately 11 years of building structural engineering design, documentation, and Special Inspections.  His design experience culminated in a series of loadbearing block and plank dormitory designs in which Chris pushed Bentley products to the breaking point on an almost daily basis.  As the long-running joke goes, the folks at Bentley eventually decided it would be much easier to hire Chris than to continue to provide him with technical support.

During his three-year tour of duty with Bentley Systems, Chris produced training materials and datasets, and training recordings.  He also conducted live software trainings across the US and Canada.  Just for fun, ask him about the crocodile during the training he conducted in South Africa.

Chris began working with Michael Brooks at ENERCALC in July 2010.  Duties have ranged from tech support to assisting the developers in laying out solution algorithms to debugging and testing.  At present, Chris acts in the capacity of Product Owner for ENERCALC SEL, and oversees development efforts, while assisting with maintenance of documentation, onboarding of new hires, and staying current with governing codes and referenced design standards.
