ENERCALC SEL RELEASE NOTES

ENERCALC SEL - Release Notes for Build 20.24.10.30

NEW MODULES

  • ASCE 7-22 Wind Forces Chapter 27 (Directional Procedure)
  • ASCE 7-22 Wind Forces Chapter 28 (Envelope Procedure)

REPAIRS AND IMPROVEMENTS

Wood Beam

  • Case 114750 Addressed some issues with the visibility of results, particularly when skip loading is used, and load combinations need to identify the loaded span(s).

Reports (all modules)

  • Case 114976 Updated the governing code references on all calculation reports to bring consistency to the system, and to address the separation of ASCE 7 Edition selection from the Governing Code selection.

ASCE 7 Seismic

  • Case 124152 Fixed an issue in the ASCE 7-22 Seismic Base Shear module that was causing inputs on the “Base Shear & Vert. Distrib.” tab to clear when clicking “Save” or “Save & Close”.

Wood Shear Wall

  • Case 124111 Some results tabs would only show meaningful results if there was an applied gravity load. This limitation was addressed in this repair.
  • Case 123960 Rearranged the Chord Design subtabs to present results more clearly.

Steel Beam

  • Case 117766 Corrected a scaling issue with the 2D sketch in the printed report.

Cantilevered Retaining Wall

  • Case 122627 Updated the allowable axial load for masonry stems designed under IBC 2024 and TMS 402-22. The factor changed from 0.25 to 0.30 in Equations 8-16 and 8-17.

General Footing

  • Case 120188 Added messaging to flag conditions where the d dimension is less than the code minimum of 6 inches.

General Footing by FEM

  • Case 119930 Corrected the function of the Soil Increase factor on the Service-Level Combinations tab.
ENERCALC SEL - Release Notes for Build 20.24.10.03

NEW MODULES

  • ASCE 7-22 Wind Enclosure
  • ASCE 7-22 Live Load Reduction
  • ASCE 7-22 Seismic Wall Anchorage
  • ASCE 7-22 Seismic Base Shear

REPAIRS AND IMPROVEMENTS

All Modules

  • Case 117463 Introduced an ASCE 7 selector within Building Code Info. This allows users to better conform to the requirements of specific jurisdictions that have adopted a different version of ASCE 7 than the version referenced by the selected IBC edition.
  • Case 115553 Carried the verbose title bar over to the cloud version, so it now reports project file name, open module name, and open calculation name.

Wood Shear Wall

  • Case 65795 Introduced SDPWS 2021 design data. This consolidates the design data into one set of values and then distinguishes between seismic design and wind design by way of specific ASD reduction factors or LRFD phi factors.
  • Case 104578 Restored the display of tension forces in the printed results. Differentiated between the maximum tension force experienced by the chord member, and the maximum tension force transferred to an anchorage at the bottom of that chord. The difference is due to the selfweight of the panel that offsets the tension force as the weight accumulates toward the bottom of the level.

Concrete Beam

  • Case 119792 Clarified the calculation of fr on the General tab.
  • Case 117546 Resolved an issue where the status message above the Calculations tab would become stuck with a hanging message when opening a calculation.

Project Manager

  • Case 120831 Displayed the governing code, referenced design standards, and ASCE 7 edition when the Project Manager is in view.
  • Case 120685 Added a note on the Print Document screen (when it is called from the Project Manager) to clarify that print options can only be changed when printing is initiated from within the individual calculation modules.

Masonry Column

  • Case 113790 Implemented the change in the factor in Equations 8-16 and 8-17 from 0.25 to 0.30.

Steel Beam

  • Case 120605 Resolved an issue where the Summary Results tab would occasionally open with no data displayed.

Concrete Column

  • Case 95490 Corrected a text reference to ACI 318-19 Section 18.7.

ASCE 7-16 Chapter 27 Wind

  • Case 40253 Corrected the Pressure Coefficients tab to incorporate GCpi for the Partially Open condition
  • Case 40252 Corrected the Enclosure tab to incorporate the Partially Open category.

Cantilevered Retaining Wall

  • Case 119716 Corrected the display of the Heel Reinforcing in the Footing Design Results section of the Printed Report in instances where the program detects tension on the bottom of the heel.
  • Case 102891 Restored the display of masonry stem rebar callouts on the Construction tab, and adjusted the hooked embedment length into footing to respect the 6″ minimum.

ASCE 7 Seismic

  • Case 119171 Introduced the Seismic Loads tab on the Add Calc screen and coordinated its display with the selected ASCE 7 Edition.

    Wood Beam

    • Case 117544 Resolved an issue where the status message above the Calculations tab would become stuck with a hanging message when opening a calculation.

    ASCE 7 Wind

    • Case 119564 Corrected the upper limit on the height range for Case 1 East on the Story Forces tab.

    General Section Properties

    • Case 81036 Corrected a graphical issue that caused some flanges to be displayed incorrectly. This was a display issue only. The calculated section properties were unaffected.

    Combined Footing

    • Case 111061 Updated the shear calculations for one-way shear to conform with ACI 318-19 Section 22.5.5.1. The Footing Shear tab now provides detailed footing shear results at each side of each column, rather than just the location with the highest shear demand.

    Load Handling

    • Case 118683 Repaired an issue that caused a corruption when changing load combination sets for the entire project in the Building Code Information section of the General division.
    • Case 116991: Widened the Load Combination set text box on the screen and in the printed reports to accommodate longer names.

    2D Frame

    • Case 118615 Widened the Load Combination set text box on the screen and in the printed reports to accommodate longer names in the 2D Frame module. This was an extension of general work that was done to other modules under ticket 116991 (see Load Handling section above).

    Wall Footing

    • Case 111062 Updated the shear calculation for footing to conform with ACI 318-19 Section 22.5.5.1. Resolved an issue where the ‘Footing Bending’ tab always reported the tension face as the bottom of the footing. Enhanced the UI to clarify when and where footing flexural reinforcement is assumed to occur.
