Keeping your Installations Up-to-Date

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

I have multiple installations of ENERCALC SEL and not all computers are running the same version.  How does this happen?

ENERCALC SEL features the ability to automatically check for the availability of updates.  But there are a number of reasons why multiple installations could get out of sync:

The automatic check for updates could have been turned off.

The SEL may not have been launched on certain machines since the date that an update became available.

The user of a particular computer may have received notification that an update was available but elected not to download and install it.

The user of a particular computer may have performed a manual update from www.enercalc.com or from this link to access our generic updater:  https://install.enercalc.com/EC20_update/EC20_UPDATE.EXE  This could actually identify an available update that was considered to be of lesser importance and was therefore not set for automatic discovery by the web update system.  Updating a computer manually might actually advance its Installed Build to a number that is higher than other computers in the office that are not manually updated.
