The first recommendation would be to use the following link to update to the latest available build: https://install.enercalc.com/EC20_update/EC20_UPDATE.EXE. Then perform a full restart and see how things behave.
If it continues to feel sluggish, use the following set of questions to guide you through some other common things to check:
1.Are you storing your Project Files on your local hard drive, or on a network drive?
2.If you’re storing them on a network drive, how does the performance change if you save them locally?
3.Are you currently using Microsoft Security Essentials? It has documented conflicts with the underlying programming language used to program ENERCALC SEL.
4.Are you aware that you can deselect the option to automatically produce backup files? Deselecting this option may improve performance.
5.Are you aware that you can deselect the option to automatically create and save calculation reports? Deselecting this option may improve performance.
