# Activate ENERCALC SEL

How to activate ENERCALC SEL on a computer using a Product Control Code and Internet Activation.

Activate ENERCALC SEL with the Product Control Code (PCC) in your product delivery email. Use the same PCC for every installation.

You can install ENERCALC SEL on any number of computers. Your license supports the number of simultaneous seats purchased for your KW registration number. Deactivate a seat before using it on another computer, or use automatic activation to release it when you close the app.

You need an internet connection only to activate or deactivate.

Most networks allow the app to connect to ENERCALC activation servers without additional configuration. If activation fails, your IT team might need to allow the connection. ### Open ENERCALC SEL

Open **ENERCALC App** from the desktop shortcut.

Alternatively, open the Windows **Start** menu and search for **ENERCALC App**.

### Review the License Control screen

After a first-time installation, the **License Control** screen opens.

If this isn't a first-time installation, skip to [choose an activation type](#choose-an-activation-type).

### Paste and validate your PCC

Find the latest PCC in your product delivery email. The PCC is a string of about 150 characters.

Copy the PCC, then select **Paste PCC from Clipboard** on the **License Control** screen.

**NOTE:** Use the same PCC for all installations. You receive a new PCC when you renew your subscription.

### Validate your Product Control Code

When the screen shows "PCC is ready to validate," select **Validate Product Control Code**.

The screen displays your license information after it validates the PCC.

### Choose an activation type

Select **Activate**, then select **Indefinite on this Computer** or **Automatic when Launching & Closing App**.

* **Indefinite Activation** reserves a license seat on this computer. The seat remains active until you deactivate it or another user deactivates it. Use this option for a single user. Avoid it when several users share a license.
* **Automatic Activation** reserves a seat when you open the app and releases it when you close the app. Use this option when several users share the software.

### Finish activation

ENERCALC SEL contacts the activation server. When the screen shows "Software is activated on this computer," select **Continue to App**.
