# Resolving Printing Issues

How to fix printing problems in ENERCALC SEL using updated printer drivers and Chrome PDF settings on Mac.

## How do I resolve ENERCALC SEL desktop printing issues on Windows?

Printer drivers and default-printer settings can cause printing issues. Use these steps if a report won't print. Use them if headings appear jumbled, misaligned, or overlapping:

1. Update your current printer driver.
2. Select a default printer that supports standard 8.5 × 11 in. paper.
3. Print the report again from ENERCALC SEL.

**Note:** A plotter set as the default printer might not provide the settings ENERCALC SEL needs to create reports. Select a standard office printer instead.
{% endhint %}

If the issue continues, try an HP Universal Print Driver:

1. Open the [HP Universal Print Driver download page](https://support.hp.com/ie-en/drivers/hp-universal-print-driver-series-for-windows/503548).
2. Download and install one of these drivers:
   * HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PostScript (64-bit)
   * HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 (64-bit)
3. Print the report again from ENERCALC SEL.

Many users have commented that prints from SEL worked perfectly after installing either of these drivers. Some have even noted that after installing these drivers, they were able to switch back to their previous printer driver and print successfully.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://enercalc.com/docs/sel-faq/using-the-software/printing/resolving-printing-issues.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
