# Getting Assistance

How to get help with ENERCALC products through the in-app Support panel, documentation, FAQs, email, or phone.

Get help with **ENERCALC** products using these resources.

{% hint style="info" %}
**NOTE:** Documentation and FAQs are available to everyone. In-app, email, and phone support require an active subscription.
{% endhint %}

## Self-service resources

* Review the program documentation by selecting **Help** > **Documentation** in the main menu.

* Read the [frequently asked questions](https://enercalc.com/docs/faq).

## Get help in ENERCALC

Select the **Support** icon at the top right of the window to open the **Support** panel. It's available on every screen, including **Settings**:

<figure><img src="https://3955293234-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fo0Hz1rmQ42N26pw3zzDH%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-6a51e5c7282d5c1f00dfdd5a4a4979ed2ff2caef%2Fsupport-panel.png?alt=media" alt="The Support panel opened from the Support icon at the top right of the ENERCALC window, showing Search the documentation, then Contact Support and Share Feedback under Still need help, and a Past Requests button"><figcaption><p>The Support panel</p></figcaption></figure>

From the panel, you can:

* **Search the documentation** to open the docs you're reading now in your browser.
* **Contact Support** to report a problem or get help.
* **Share Feedback** to suggest a feature or an improvement.

### Contact Support

1. In the **Support** panel, select **Contact Support**.
2. Under **How serious is it?**, select **Something's wrong** if you can keep working, or **I'm blocked** if it stops your work.
3. In **Describe the problem**, explain what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead.
4. To let support open the project you're working in, turn on **Share this project with support**. This option appears only when a project is open.
5. Select **Send request**.

<figure><img src="https://3955293234-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fo0Hz1rmQ42N26pw3zzDH%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-47bfabb73417618c40b79be0255699cec1213429%2Fsupport-contact-form.png?alt=media" alt="The Contact Support form with How serious is it options Something&#x27;s wrong and I&#x27;m blocked, a Describe the problem box, the Share this project with support switch, the email address replies go to, and a Send request button"><figcaption><p>Contacting support</p></figcaption></figure>

Once your request is sent, the panel shows your ticket number, and support replies to the email address you sign in with. ENERCALC adds your app version, your organization and license number, and the calculation you have open, so you don't need to include them.

{% hint style="info" %}
**NOTE:** A shared project includes only saved work. If any calculation has unsaved changes, save it before you send the request so support sees what you see.
{% endhint %}

### Share Feedback

1. In the **Support** panel, select **Share Feedback**.
2. Under **What kind of feedback?**, select **Feature request** or **Something else**.
3. In **Your feedback**, describe what would make ENERCALC better.
4. Select **Send feedback**.

<figure><img src="https://3955293234-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2Fo0Hz1rmQ42N26pw3zzDH%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-5a2b4f507770a829ec894905229627074a61c4d5%2Fsupport-share-feedback.png?alt=media" alt="The Share Feedback form with What kind of feedback options Feature request and Something else, a Your feedback box, and a Send feedback button"><figcaption><p>Sharing feedback</p></figcaption></figure>

## Contact Technical Services

* **Email:** <support@enercalc.com>
* **Phone:** [800-424-2252](tel:8004242252) or [949-614-0689](tel:9496140689)

{% hint style="info" %}
**NOTE:** Phone lines can be used to open a support case. However, please note that a phone call doesn't connect you immediately with a support team member.

Many questions need investigation or coordination across our distributed team, so we begin support by email. It lets us share screenshots and self-service links. It also keeps a complete conversation record for the entire support team.

After we provide initial answers by email, phone support may be arranged when a discussion needs more detail.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://enercalc.com/docs/installation-activation/support-and-maintenance/getting-assistance.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
